Lorrayne Porciuncula, Executive Director at Datasphere Initiative shares perspectives on data governance at Brazil Innovation Congress

On Thursday 2 September, 2021 Lorrayne Porciuncula, Executive Director, Datasphere Initiative, incubated by the Internet & Jurisdiction Policy Network, presented findings from the I&JPN report “We Need to Talk About Data: Framing the Debate Around the Free Flow of Data and Data Sovereignty” at the 16th Brazil Innovation Congress in the Judiciary & Control or CONIP JUDICIÁRIO & CONTROLE.

The event aims to address trends, case studies, proofs of concept and other topics for an update by public managers in favor of improving public services for society. It brings together over 500 participants from the public and private sector in Brazil.

Ms. Porciuncula participated in a debate on promoting digital transformation in the public sector for innovation and collaboration. Highlighting key transversal issues around data governance, Ms. Porciuncula encouraged participants to address data flows in a nuanced manner and provided examples of the types of innovative tools and frameworks that can be used to address the issue of data.
