I&JPN invited to speak at WTO Simply Services Seminar on Digital Trade and post-COVID success

On June 22, 2021, Lorrayne Porciuncula, Director at the I&JPN Data & Jurisdiction Program and Co-Author of the Report  “We Need to Talk About Data: Framing the Debate Around the Free Flow of Data and Data Sovereignty”, participated as a speaker in a World Trade Organization Simply Services Seminar: “Connectivity, Competition & Collaboration The 3Cs of Digital Trade: What policies for post-COVID success?”

The Seminar explored the features of regulatory frameworks that enhance connectivity to communications infrastructures, so as to raise e-readiness and narrow the digital divide. Panelists considered the cross-border data flow issues present in the digital trade space, the concerns being dealt with at the World Trade Organization and elsewhere within regulatory communities, service sectors, and technical disciplines.
