I&J Deputy Director Paul Fehlinger was invited by the World Trade Organization (WTO) to present the Internet & Jurisdiction Policy Network and the outcomes of its 2nd Global Conference to the WTO delegations and Secretariat at the Simply Services session on September 20, 2018 in Geneva, Switzerland.

The session entitled “Jurisdiction on the Internet: Implications for Digital Services” was moderated by Ms Lee Tuthill from the WTO, and discussed the importance of legal interoperability and policy coherence for the future of digital trade.

“Without more legal interoperability, we will have less cross-border digital trade. We need to create an enabling environment that is as transnational as the Internet itself”, says I&J Deputy Director Paul Fehlinger.

The "Simply Services “ series is an informal knowledge exchange platform regularly convening services experts to the WTO to share the latest information on trends in services trade.
