The Director of the Secretariat of the Internet & Jurisdiction Policy Network Bertrand de la Chapelle has been invited to be a speaker at the high-level Justice and Home Affairs Seminar organised by the Council of the European Union on November 8, 2017 in Brussels, Belgium, under the Estonian Presidency of the EU.

Pursuant to Article 68 of the Lisbon Treaty, the European Council has the obligation to hold a mid-term review of the strategic guidelines set in 2014 regarding legislative and operational planning in the areas of freedom, security and justice. This seminar will take a preliminary look into the efforts that have been made so far to implement agreed policies, and improve coherence and synergies between them.

Leveraging the experiences of the Internet & Jurisdiction Policy Network, Bertrand de la Chapelle has been invited to talk about strategies regarding the engagement of major stakeholders in the digital environment in European Union policy making.
