Google launched new software aimed at flagging "toxic" comments

On February 22, 2017, Google and its tech incubator Jigsaw launched a new technology called Perspective, which “identifies whether a comment could be perceived as “toxic" to a discussion” based on ratings submitted by people. The software would not remove the comments detected as “toxic,” but would flag them to the publishers. The tool has already been tested by the New York Times. The Economist, The Guardian, and Wikipedia will soon follow suit.
